One thing to remember in your scrapbooking efforts is that sometimes the simple things in life are far more effective. When we scrapbook, we normally find ourselves coming out with busy and ornate layouts with lots of embellishments, but sometimes it is nice just to have a clean and simply structured layout.

Every now and then it can be quite effective to have a simple, not too busy design that lets your photographs do the talking, instead of all the embellishments taking up all your focal attention.

One of my most effective layouts was one I created in about fifteen minutes. I had some beautiful photographs of a close friend standing in front of a body of water. I had three of these that were taken on the same day, but from different angles of her looking out over the lake. The reflections from the lake came out on the photograph bright blue in color and it was almost as if she were standing by a large swimming pool. I had been dying to scrapbook these for actually ages, but wasn’t quite sure how I could show them off to their full advantage. Its an idea for my brothers 21st.

he is interested in “coins”

now what i was thinking to do what create his own “coin collection album” (he does not have one)

but what i was going to do what start collecting and putting them in a album and do it up like a scrapbooking way? So eg, American coins on a page, and around it i will stick on scrapbooking stickers of the American Flag! and stuff like that

instead of having just a plain old coin album.. if you know what i mean..

and i am wondering just for advice or opinions would this be a nice idea to create this for him
?

That’s a really cute idea. However, most people like to organize their collection in specific ways, which might not be the way you’ve set up the scrapbook. Also, if you use “non coin safe” stuff to get the coins on the pages, you’ll end up damaging them.  Read more...
